«The Introduction of the Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology»
The Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Department has been established via Dr. Forouzandeh from 1997. At that time, the classes held by her own slides because of the lack of facilities and microscopic slides and the theoretical courses has been held by herself. After that with the help of Dr. Mohammad Eslami as a tuition professor, the classes had been held until the year 2000, Dr. Jahanfar Jahanbani and in 2002 Dr. Donia Sadri has been becoming the faculty member of the Oral Pathology Department.
In 2005, by the attempt of the Oral Pathology Professors, and primitive facilities, the Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology professional laboratory was inaugurated which receives the university sections’ biopsies preparation of the practical courses slides, and also primitive practices for microscopic recognition. Many of the microscopic lahms, in research thesis which need histological study, will be ready in this section with the consultation of the Oral Pathology Professors.
Dr. Fatemeh Shahsavari and Shila Ghasemi has become the faculty member of this department.

The Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Department, in addition of training the dental students of the university, undertake the different residents training of the other departments and also the BS prosthesis students. The practical Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Department, has 13 active microscopes which is useable during the practical courses. In 2009, the use of CDs and educational films, in Oral Pathology Practical classes has been started which increase the students’ satisfaction and convenience.
